Danielle & Steve | St. Petersburg, Florida | Engagement

Danielle and Steve’s engagement session was photographed in several locations near the St Petersburg Pier. The first was the St Petersburg Yacht Club, and the employees there were VERY nice and allowed us to capture some romantic shots of Steve & Danielle in and around the yacht yard, and even in their 19ft sailboats! It was a blast! Steve even took the opportunity to give Danielle a little lesson in his rigging and sailing skills.

We then drove over to the sea wall just across from the pier to get some shots in the grass and along the water just before sunset. While shooting there, we were SO lucky to find ourselves only feet away from two dolphins racing up and down along the wall catching fish. It was an amazing opportunity to capture pictures of Steve and Danielle with dolphins and made for a very memorable shoot for all of us.

In this final photo Danielle and Steve got a last glimpse of the pair of dolphins before they left for the evening.

Lacey & Kirk | Centro Asturiano Theater | Wedding

We adore Lacey and Kirk! They are warm, caring, and fun and were so great to work with. They were all about doing creative, artistic photos and alloted a couple hours prior to the ceremony for us to photograph them and their wedding party. We love having the opportunity to have this kind of time with our bride and groom. It gives us the ability to shoot in multiple locations and get really creative!! And, Lacey and Kirk and their whole wedding party were really into it! They were the best models!

Notice the fab jewelry on each of the ladies? Lacey is a jewelry designer and designed these amazing guitar pick necklaces. She’s the creative mastermind behind her company Pink Lacey.

After their great photo shoot, it was time for the wedding! The ceremony took place at the beautiful Cuban Centro Asturiano Theater. It started with a dark theater filled with family and friends and the beautiful music of pianist, Joe Davidian, resonating from the orchestra pit. Each guest holding the custom playbill entitled, “A Concert of Love” and chock-full of fun facts about the bride and groom, the different acts of the wedding/show, and even a “Who’s who in the cast”! The procession of the bridal party and the lovely bride started from the back of the theater up to the stage. Each person lit individually by spotlights as they walked across the theater (amazing lighting done by the brilliant Bay Stage Lighting). The ceremony was broken into sections, and each section was followed by a breathtaking performance. Maid of Honor, Kerrie Roberts and bridesmaid, Danielle Cruz, both professional vocalists, and Danielle’s brother, Kyle Cruz, also a professional musician, performed 6 show-stopping songs. We found it hard not to set down our cameras and be swept away by the art and beauty. It felt like we were watching a broadway show more than a wedding.

The reception room looked beautiful with the black and white decor and Bay Stage Lighting brought it to a whole new level with gorgeous GOBOs lighting the ceilings and walls.

Kirk and Lacey, thanks so much for letting us be a part of your spectacular wedding!! And here’s to you both and your beautiful life together!

Tampa Doubletree Promo Shoot

We were so happy to be asked to do a promotional photo shoot of the Doubletree Guest Suites Tampa Bay. It’s an interesting change of pace photographing a ceremony with no bride/groom and a reception with no guests. Feels like something’s missing for sure. But sort of a fun contrast to the regular weekend shoots where there actually ARE guests, a bride, a groom, music, laughter, etc. We’ll call it a little bit of yin-yang.

But more about the shoot–we had the great pleasure of working with two of our favorite people: Matt & Amanda from MMD Events. They are incredibly versatile people and artists…and on that note, an impromptu Top 10 List:

More Work in Brides Florida Magazine

I almost forgot…we also did a really fun catering photo shoot for a great catering company in the Tampa Bay area. They were so happy with the images they used them as the artwork for their Brides Florida Magazine ad! I’ve attached a copy of their ad below for you to see. And the best thing about a food photo shoot??…free food! Oh, and for all of you brides-to-be out there? Do yourselves a favor and get in touch with Lauren from Catering by Design. They are all so sweet and wonderful, the food is great and beautiful (great for pictures) and they do an awesome job. They also offer monthly food tastings for prospective brides, or anyone else who’s considering using their stellar services. So check that one off your list–aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, doesn’t that feel good??

Married on the 4th of July | St. Petersburg, Florida | Wedding

We’ve been so excited to post this wedding because it was just so cool in so many ways. Rachel and Nick are expecting their first child (congrats!!) at the beginning of next year, and they were planning their wedding for mid-2010. At the last minute they found out that Nick, who is in the Navy Reserves, was being called to duty in the Middle East!–so the happy (and I do mean happy–they are SO sweet with each other!) couple quickly began planning a NEW wedding in the MUCH nearer future. So one of the reasons this wedding was so cool and special is that Nick has been volunteering his services for our country and is now being called on to be gone for over a year to continue to do so on a full-time basis. And they were married on the most patriotic day of the year. Add to that that your beautiful and loving wife will be giving birth to your son/daughter (do you guys know yet?) with daddy halfway around the globe. Needless to say, despite the short notice, we were honored to be referred to Rachel to photograph her wedding. Alright I’ve gone on long enough setting the scene…here are some of our faves to show you what I’m talking about. Congrats, Rachel & Nick! And Godspeed, Nick.

Wow, it’s been a long time since the last blog post. SOOOOO much to share. But until then, wanted to share this photo first. Ana and I were at brunch the other day together and we ran into Dalas and Kiersten from an Engagement Session we’d done with them months back! It was so great to see them, and they looked fabulous. They were on their way to Busch Gardens for the day (FUN–lucky) but it got me thinking about some of the photos from their session that we didn’t post or use, even though they were great. (For all of you K&K Brides out there who’ve met with us and viewed our albums, this is the couple in the Engagement Sign-In album we show.) Ship Shape Clothing | Commercial Shoot

A few weeks ago Christine from Ship Shape Clothing asked if we’d be willing to do some shoots for their company to help launch their fresh new line of designs (really great t’s, unique designs–great stuff). We like to keep our styles fresh and constantly evolving by shooting commercial and other work alongside our regular engagement and wedding work, so of course we accepted! We decided to shoot it on Clearwater Beach and we got it all set up. The whole shoot was LOTS of fun. A huge thanks to the three wonderful models: Myranda, Samantha and Ciarra, and also to Eli and Christine from Ship Shape for your professionalism, being so fun to work with and also for your ninja-stealth video shooting skills that captured this great product shoot promo footage! Can’t wait for round 2, 3 4….

Payton | Florida Portrait Studio

We were recently asked to shoot some headshot and comp card images for the cutest little girl named Payton. She’s going to be auditioning for some work with Disney, so her parents asked if we could put together a set of images that illustrate her personality and some of her expressiveness!
