First, our Blog has been updated and improved and we’ll be adding even more to it shortly like a full testimonial section where you can view dozens of letters from our clients, both for weddings and portraits as well as an expanded Frequently Asked Questions where we’ll answer all of those burning questions, and we’ll be adding lots more photos! Next,we’re updating our website, adding a whole new section of Engagement Shoots for you to enjoy!

And most exciting…we’re moving! 2009 was a very big year for us. Our team expanded and we outgrew our current studio!  The new space is incredible and we can’t wait to show you!! The grand opening will be this April!

And that’s just the beginning…

Between several bi-coastal weddings, engagements shoots, and a whole lot of holiday shoots, I have had little time to attend to the Blog! There is quite a line-up of shoots to post and they are coming your way soon! And, isn’t it just grand the holidays are here? I’m the crazy girl who listens to Christmas music from Thanksgiving through Christmas. I love everything about the holidays… the smell of pine trees, Christmas lights, yummy holiday baking and the list could go on and on! This year is very special for us because its our son’s first Christmas. There is something so magical seeing Christmas through the eyes of a child!

I’ve never written about it or have shown any on the blog! Silly me! Well, graphic design is one of my loves and I’ve been designing holiday cards, birth announcements, and invitations for myself, friends and family for years, but recently realized that I need to offer our lovely brides and grooms something too! Because I put a great deal of importance in the photograph, I design the cards so they enhance the photo and add to the over-all communication. Most save-the-dates are templates that the photo is placed into and I have found that quite often (1) the design is too busy and takes away from the photo, (2) many times the colors don’t quite work with the image, somewhat clashing and (3) the photo is just TOO small or there is a little collage of tiny tiny pictures that you have to squint at to see. This is why I started designing save-the-dates. You have to see the photo and the design needs to enhance it, not take away! When your guests receive their save-the-date, the card should make them even more excited about the wedding to come and the wonderful couple.

Here are a couple of our save-the date designs. First here’s the magnet designs. The magnets are 3″x4.5″.

Wouldn’t you just love to have something like that on your fridge?!

Ok, and now my favorite, the cards. I love these because they are unique and pretty. They are flat cards, printed on both sides on pearl card stock. We make them in two sizes, either 4×6 or 5×7.

This is the front of the card. See, it’s clean and simple and all about the photograph! I mean you could frame it!

Then on the back is all the information nicely laid out. Not cramped and crammed in. I usually have these printed with rounded corners and it just adds that final touch!

……… . So if you are having an engagement session done by K&K we’d be happy to design a custom save-the-date card or magnet. It will stand out from the standard save-the-dates and enhance your beautiful engagement photo. :)

Ana and I were at brunch the other day together and we ran into Dalas and Kiersten from an Engagement Session we’d done with them months back! It was so great to see them, and they looked fabulous. They were on their way to Busch Gardens for the day (FUN–lucky) but it got me thinking about some of the photos from their session that we didn’t post or use, even though they were great. (For all of you K&K Brides out there who’ve met with us and viewed our albums, this is the couple in the Engagement Sign-In album we show.) :) Anyway, here’s another pic I dug up from their session that I really liked and wanted to share. Well we’re just wrapping up their beautiful album (and we just have to say, it’s going to be AMAZING with the engraved color image on the stainless steel cover) and we received the following blush-worthy testimonial–we are flattered and honored to have been part of such a beautiful family/friend’s special day:

Jeff and I were married on the Sand Key Beach right outside the Belleview Biltmore’s private beach club, the Cabana. Dana’s archway was gorgeous and really made our wedding perfect.
