Maryam & Kyle | New York, New York | Wedding

Kyle and Maryam’s wedding was done in true New York style. We took them through the streets of NYC, photographing them at many of the major NYC monuments. Their wedding extravaganza took place at the Midtown Loft and Terrace. The traditional Persian ceremony was held inside the beautiful loft area. Cocktails followed upstairs on the wrap-around terrace with 360-degree views of the Manhattan skyline, during which time the loft was quickly transformed for dinner and dancing. Wanting the urban sounds of New York to be infused into their celebration, the couple hired a variety of talented street musicians to play in addition to their fantastic live band. The celebration lasted through the night and was filled with fun surprises like a cigar roller, hookahs, and a second midnight meal of yummy sliders and fries! Maryam looked absolutely stunning! I really loved the bridal portraits we did in her hotel room at the Union Square W Hotel. Nothing beats natural window light! Aren’t they just too cool?! And does the groom not remind you of Daniel Craig in 007?In Grand Central Station! Right in the middle of Time Square literally stopping traffic!
And a little Abbey Road. The groom took off his shoes and socks and jumped in the fountain (groomsmen following close behind). This was all before the ceremony!!
The rooftop of the Midtown Loft and Terrace filled with friends, family and amazing music! The view from the Midtown Loft and Terrace couldn’t be beat! The Empire State Building seemed close enough to touch!

Kyle and Maryam’s celebration was New York City at it’s best!

KALEN & RAFAEL | Oakland, CALIFORNIA | WEDDING

It was great making a little jaunt over to California for Kalen and Rafael’s beautiful wedding! A wonderful couple, beautiful countryside and fantastic weather made this wedding perfection! Kalen got ready at the Deer Crossing Inn. The inn was picture-perfect, set in rolling hills of wheat with a fun faux gold mining scene on the property. The wedding ceremony was held in a gorgeous Japanese garden.

This last photo almost looks surreal. It’s one of my favorites!

Congratulations Kalen and Rafael! We were so happy to be apart of your wedding day. You are both wonderful and caring individuals who compliment each other perfectly! We have no doubt you two are going to have a beautiful future together!

Danielle & Steve | St. Petersburg, Florida | Engagement

Danielle and Steve’s engagement session was photographed in several locations near the St Petersburg Pier. The first was the St Petersburg Yacht Club, and the employees there were VERY nice and allowed us to capture some romantic shots of Steve & Danielle in and around the yacht yard, and even in their 19ft sailboats! It was a blast! Steve even took the opportunity to give Danielle a little lesson in his rigging and sailing skills.

We then drove over to the sea wall just across from the pier to get some shots in the grass and along the water just before sunset. While shooting there, we were SO lucky to find ourselves only feet away from two dolphins racing up and down along the wall catching fish. It was an amazing opportunity to capture pictures of Steve and Danielle with dolphins and made for a very memorable shoot for all of us.

In this final photo Danielle and Steve got a last glimpse of the pair of dolphins before they left for the evening.

Lindsay & Dwane | Sarasota, Florida | Wedding

We had a busy weekend of weddings, but now I have a moment to post more images from Lindsay and Dwane’s wedding as promised! I’m really excited about these images. The Powel Crosley Estate is beautiful in every detail and Lindsay and Dwane are quite a couple and know how to work it in front of the camera (Lindsay especially as you’ll see when you check out the images below!). I know we say this a lot about our brides and grooms, but I have to say, we LOVE these guys! I think we’re very fortunate to get clients that we have a lot in common with and naturally strike up fast friendships with. This couple and their family were so easy going, warm and hilarious! At moments it presented a bit of a challenge attempting to hold our cameras steady while we were shaking with laughter as they let loose a barrage of funny one liners!

We’d like to give a special thanks to the wonderful vendors who helped make this wedding so spectacular!

And the bumping music was done by DJ by CJ

As I mentioned earlier, the camera loved Lindsay! She was a vision in her wedding dress. The dress framed her figure beautifully and seemed to bring out the actress in her!

Amber & Chace | Tierra Verde, Florida | Engagement

Engagement sessions give us a chance to be more free to play and experiment. The pressures of time constraints aren’t there like they are at a wedding, leaving us free to have fun and really let the creative juices flow. With that said, when I look at the photographs below of Amber and Chace, I can see that it can be just as fun to be on the other side of the camera. I love knowing that our subjects are enjoying themselves as much as we are!

Amber and Chace’s engagement session was at Fort DeSoto Park. This location was amazing because of the variety of different “looks”. One moment they’re in the tall grass, next surrounded by forest, followed by open beach, then a stroll on the boardwalk and even at the waters edge with the boulders of a rock jetty behind. Add to that a gorgeous day and a great couple who absolutely delight in each others company and I’d say that ’s a home run.

Lindsay & Ferdi | Fashion Portraiture | Engagement

This was definitely not your typical engagement session! After meeting Lindsay, Jeff noted her striking resemblance to Twilight actress, Kirsten Stewart. Just prior to meeting her Jeff had been studying some of the lighting and editing techniques used by the Twilight photographer, Joey L. He was interested in creating this look and feel in one of his up and coming shoots and Lindsay was just the inspiration he was looking for. He approached her and her fiancee, Ferdi, with the idea of a Twilight themed fashion shoot for their engagement session. They were absolutely thrilled with the idea. That started the wheels in motion. To pull off a shoot like that takes a bit more than a typical engagement session. Hours of research and scouting went into finding the perfect location needed to create the look and feel of Twilight. We brought in Christine Wheaton of Femme Akoi for hair, make-up and wardrobe consultation. She stayed on location for the whole shoot, keeping our models looking just right. Though having no prior modeling experience, Lindsay and Ferdi were naturals in front of the camera and we were honestly blown away by how great they did! Here are some of the images from this amazing shoot!

The feedback from this shoot has been overwhelming and we are thrilled with all the excitement it has generated! Honestly, who wouldn’t love a professional fashion shoot of themselves with a theme that is special to them, be it their favorite time period in history, or maybe a favorite movie, or style. With the opening of our new Studio in March we absolutely plan to offer Fashion Portraiture Engagement Sessions to all our couples!

A huge thank you goes to Christine of Femme Akoi for not only being an amazing hair and make-up artist, but for also being the ultimate Twilight expert due to her personal obsession with the series . And thank you to Lindsay and Ferdi for helping inspire a whole new realm for Engagement sessions!
